Utopia Collectiva

During the last few months and the socio-economic and political changes we are experiencing in Cyprus, words as collectiveness, solidarity and self-reliance are of more importance. Utopia Collectiva, based on those ideals, acts and contributes both at a social and a collective level. The attitude promoted by Collective seems to be necessary, now, a prerequisite for decent survival and development of people within and outside Europe, suffering from the effects of system changes. No panic, on the contrary, we believe that - even through the infernal plans policies within and outside Cyprus - is our chance to take our lives into our own hands and as long as we stay out of the new system imposed on us. WE, Utopia , personally and collectively:

• We act collectively and MUTUALLY, exchanging and utilizing the skills of everyone.
• Apply SELF-SUFFICIENCY in our basic needs : production of basic foodstuffs (bread, vegetables, oil, etc.), creation and repair items (clothes, furniture, gifts, cosmetics, etc.)
• We prefer LOCAL PRODUCTS: thus avoid imported and support the local economy.
• We prefer QUALITY PRODUCTS that are not harmful to health and the environment.
• WE SUPPORT THE SMALL BUSINESS: While shopping from multinationals help a family to live, but rather an increasing riches. Each of our market is one vote for the world we want. *
• We live our neighborhood as an extension of our home .
• We use the necessary energy ( alternative ways of traveling , saving at home , APE , etc. )
• We encourage CREATIVITY, SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY and CRITICAL THINKING in children and those around us.
• Changing the way we spend our leisure time, spending more time with nature on the previous activities , they feel calm and strengthen our prosperity.
• We are open to diversity and exchange of experiences and ideals , because change can only come from NEW IDEAS.

* The holidays and frantic consumerism are calling us very soon! It would be good to bear in mind that with our every dollar we spend we vote on how we want the world around us! If you want a world where morality, equality and respect are the backbone of our lives, then choose to spend your money in small, ethical businesses and support the local community and economy.
